Decison to expand into the Hungarian market was made in 1996 by MERKUR SPIELOTHEK HUNGARY: The country offered a stable legal environment based on the Gambling Law No. XXXIV 1991.
Following the strategic decision to open its first arcade in the shopping centre Duna Plaza, five other followed in Gyor, Sopron Székesfehérvár and Debrecen. During these ten years an enormous development has taken place in the field of electronic arcades. Service quality and products offered ever higher gambling environment for the entertainment of clients seeking inviting gambling environment. The best reflection of these changes is expressed by the logo of Merkur Casino. During a second wave of expanding new electronic casinos were opened in a row: in the shopping centres Árkád, MOM Park, Savoya Park and recently in one of the most popular Mamut Shopping Centres in the central Buda area. Additional arcades opened in the Mester utca and on Mátyás király út in the III. District. With the road breaking remodeling of Árkád the mystic world of Merkur Planet was turned into reality, making these Merkur Casino to one of the most exciting places in the Budapest gambling landscape.

Ever as of the very outset Merkur electronic Casinos have offered a wide variety of machines in demand by the most product conscious gamblers.
